Patient Participation Group (PPG) – Have YOUR say in your surgery
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteer patients or carers who discuss and support the
running of the practice. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.
Why should I join?
You can bring different ideas to the surgery to help us treat patients better or to improve what we do. You will also gain a better understanding of the NHS and gather feedback from other patients. This year we launched a recruitment drive to expand our PPG. We have managed to establish an active and engaging PPG group with two nominated chairs. Meetings are usually every 3 months.

Will my views be heard?
Your views are important and will be listened to. It may not be possible to act on every suggestion, but all feedback is very valuable. We will work together on solutions. We may explore virtual groups in the future for those who cannot attend meetings but would be interested to participate online. If you would be interested to join in some way please email us on patient.frp@nhs.net.

Frequently asked questions:
What if I have no access to the internet?
Please do not worry! The phone lines are still operational and will continue to do so. We appreciate not everyone has access to the internet or able to use it with ease. These patients are encouraged to continue to phone the surgery. We hope by encouraging all patient who can use the internet to use anima will help to significantly reduce phone waiting times. Our Patient Services Team will always be available to help on the phone and they will be able to submit a request on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
When I call the surgery, why do the Patient Services Team ask me questions about my problem or condition?
It is important that we process all patient requests in a consistent manner. The team will therefore ask questions in an identical way to Anima. This will ensure the clinical team receive important information regarding your problem irrespective of the booking method used.
Please be reassured that our Patient Services Team process and record all information confidentially.
How do I add a dependent to my account?
Anima will allow you to add family members to an Anima account by creating a dependent account for them within your profile. This allows you to submit requests on their behalf. This may be useful to submit requests for children, or elderly relatives for example. Patients are asked not to request appointment for family or friends without creating dependent account.
