NHS App
If you’re a patient at our practice aged 16 or over, you can use the NHS App. It helps you to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet for Apple (iOS) and Android devices.
Children aged 13-15 should first speak to the practice if they want to have access to the NHS App.
You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at www.nhs.uk/gponlineservices
What the NHS App does
- view parts of your GP record – including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results.
- order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.
See the Prescriptions page for more details. - book appointments – search for, book and cancel some appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments.
See the Appointments page for more details. - check your symptoms – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments, and get instant advice or medical help near you.
- register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
- find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.

Future developments to the NHS App for Anima users
We hope that in the near future (Spring 2026), you will be able to:
- send us an online form about your symptoms, conditions, or treatment.
- request a sick/fit note and have it sent to your phone.
When these features are available, we will let everyone know that they can use the App for even more communication with us.
Help someone else
You can apply to access the health records, appointments and prescriptions of people you care for (including children). This is called “proxy access“. You can also ask for another person you trust to help you. Both the patient and the proxy must be patients at a Farnham Road Medical Group practice to use the NHS App to do this.
If you already use Patient Access you can continue to use it. But the NHS App will give you easy and secure access on your smartphone, tablet or your computer.
Patient Access
Patient Access is another way to access your GP record but we now strongly recommend the NHS App. Changes to login requirements for Patient Access have caused lots of issues for some users and the NHS App is a lot easier to support from the practice.
If you are registered to use the service, you can login to Patient Access below
